I decided to use the old blown out main for the first time out and hang on to the new one for awhile. It was a perfect day with steady wind, sunshine and a quiet lake with few power boats. I just couldn't wait and decided to tempt fate and run the engine briefly with only one good mounting bracket. I really only need it for a few moments to motor in and out of the slip so I think I can get by for a few weeks until I can locate a new bracket.
All said we had a great time and it was worth the wait...

Hi, I just bought a new FX sail from a guy for my O'22...it even has the O'day 22 logo which FX does a good job with. My original sail has a fixed foot and may be a bit better made. My new FX sail has the lose foot like yours...Are you Happy with this style? how is the sail holding up?

Hello Sean,
After some thought I don't think I'd ever return to a sail with an attached foot. Loose foot sails are easier to rig, reef and manipulate sail shape. The outhaul is a joy to use without the added friction of an attached foot, I find myself now making regular adjustments.
As far as sail quality I have no complaints and after a couple seasons of regular use it still looks and feels new. If I ever buy new headsails they will be from FX although I find the original jib adequate for the small lake I sail on.
